Copycat Montgomery Inn BBQ Sauce

Course Sauce

Ingredients
  

  • Yields 2 pints
  • 5 cups Ketchup
  • 1 cup Cider Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Tarragon
  • 1 1/2 cups Sugar
  • 5 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 7 1/2 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 Head of Garlic peeled
  • 7 medium Onions quartered
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions
 

  • Combine all of the ingredients in a large pot and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce the heat and simmer for 1 hour. I usually let mine sit in the pot for a while to cool and combine flavors even more.
  • Strain and pour the BBQ sauce into pint jars.
  • Once the sauce is cool, close with the lid and store in the refrigerator.
