Easy Crock Pot Hot Cocoa
How is the weather where you’re at? It’s freezing cold here in Texas….I mean literally! It’s in the low 20s and we are just not used to that kind of weather. I have a few friends that live way up North and I don’t know how they do it. One thing that we LOVE and go through a lot of when it’s cold outside is hot cocoa. My kids request it almost every morning before school. I usually just make them individual cups and get hot water from the Keurig, but when we have a larger group at the house or have a party I like to make this Easy Crock Pot Hot Cocoa. It only takes a handful of ingredients and it’s all stuff that I usually have on hand anyway. Plus we can keep it on warm all throughout the party or night so we don’t have to worry about it getting cold.
- 2 cups of semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1 can (14oz) of sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups of heavy whipping cream
- 6 cups of milk
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla
- a pinch of salt
- Add all of the ingredients to the slow cooker and stir until well mixed and chocolate chips are spread evenly around the bottom.
- Cook on the low setting for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Serve topped with whipped cream or marshmallows.
Voila! This Easy Crock Pot Hot Cocoa definitely earns it’s name! Since I usually make this when we have company over, I like to set out a few dishes of things for my guests to top their hot cocoa with. I like to have things like mini marshmallows, whipped cream, crushed peppermint pieces and sometimes some shaved chocolate bits. You can also set out some peppermint sticks for them to use as stirrers! The kids always love those!
